The Modern Matchmaker started in 1991 as a part-time business for Susan while she ran Susan Patt Associates, a marketing communications firm, on a full time basis. She met her husband-to-be through her matchmaking firm and married him in March 1994. With growing referrals from satisfied clients, Susan decided that she truly enjoyed being a professional matchmaker and decided to close Susan Patt Associates after 25 years to run The Modern Matchmaker on a full time basis.

As a Professional Matchmaker, Susan blends traditional matchmaking values with modern technology to find her clients the perfect match. She uses her BA in Journalism and MA in Communications from Duquesne University and her 25 years of marketing communications expertise to communicate clearly with clients, listen to their needs and help them enhance their lives. She partners with her clients in a shared effort to make select introductions that lead to a long term committed relationship or marriage; that special someone to be your best friend and lover. She believes in quality introductions, not quantity, and knows that mutual respect and good communication are necessary for a successful relationship.

Susan and David Dunhoff met as a result of The Modern Matchmaker, which Susan founded fifteen years ago.
