September 16, 2007: Ice Breakers This fall, Susan Dunhoff, The Modern Matchmaker, was interviewed for an article by William Loefller in the Tribune Review on the myths and reality of pick-up lines. Here is what Susan had to say:

"The pressures of making an impression in 10 seconds also can lead perfectly sensible guys to use a caveman come-on," says Susan Dunhoff, owner of the Modern Matchmaker in Squirrel Hill. "I think they feel kind of insecure," she says. "I think they want to be perceived as being attractive or sexy or macho, and that's why some of these things come out of their mouths. They only have so much time to meet someone. They want to meet this person, and all of a sudden, what do you say, what do you do?"

June 29, 2007: "It's in the Bag" PURSE Party On June 22 The Modern Matchmaker joined host Diana Rua Media at DejaVu Lounge in the Strip for "It's in the Bag," a Live Auction of designer and boutique handbags to benefit Adagio Health. The auction was hosted by Sonni Abatta of KDKA.

February 15, 2007: Valentine’s Day Events The Modern Matchmaker participated in two events for Pittsburgh singles in February. On February 10, Susan joined hosts The Committee and Nakturnal at the 10th Anniversary Anti-Valentine's Day Bash at the Altar Bar where a crowd of approximately 400 singles enjoyed a fashion show and the music of Rolling Stone Magazine's New Artist to Watch – Wiz Khalifa. On Valentine's Day, Susan was at the Metropolis' Valentine's Day Party where she gave relationship advice at a Confessions Table. February 11, 2007: The Modern Matchmaker Quoted in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review Article on Love Songs Susan Dunhoff, owner of The Modern Matchmaker, was recently quoted in an article titled "Nothing Strengthens a Couple's Relationship Like a Good Love Song" by William Loeffler in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. As a relationship expert, Susan was quoted as saying, "Songs can have power," says Professional Matchmaker Susan Dunhoff, who runs The Modern Matchmaker in Squirrel Hill. "Some people say that their song almost describes the relationship. It almost illustrates it."

"I really think that a special song is kind of like a love secret. The more love secrets a couple has, the stronger the relationship. It's almost like a personal thing that they picked out, like their wedding bands. It's another thing that binds them together. It's just unique to them."

January 2, 2007: The Modern Matchmaker Hosts a Holiday Celebration To celebrate the holidays, The Modern Matchmaker hosted The Perfect Match Holiday Party at the Hard Rock Cafe, Station Square on Sunday, December 24. Singles of all ages mingled, enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and met Professional Matchmaker Susan Dunhoff.
